About Michael Dow
Hi,

My name is Michael Dow and I was born and raised in Birmingham, AL.  I live in Tucson, AZ with my wife, Amanda, and two sons, Kegan and Nicholas.

I earned a B.A. in Psychology from Auburn University ('99), a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from U.A.B. ('01) and a M.S. in Management with a Human Resource Management concentration from Troy University ('10).  I began pursuing a career in Medicine in 2000-2001 and took the MCAT.  About a month later, the events of 11 Sept. 2001 occurred and I had a paradigm shift.  I choose to change careers and joined the U.S. Air Force.  I served 8 years as a Mission Crew Commander on the EC-130H Compass Call as well as an Executive Officer.  I was medically retired the week of Thanksgiving of 2010.  Starting June 2011, I work for Mancon, inc. as an Army Contractor.  I'm an Army Wounded Warrior Advocate assisting the Army's severely wounded, ill and injured soldiers and their families in their recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration.

I'm the Manager of Dow Creative Enterprises, LLC.  Please visit www.DowCreativeEnterprises.com for details on all of our current projects.  We plan to have many different not-for-profit and for-profit organizations in the future.  Currently, DCE's only products are books and websites.  The following are the books I've written and self-published.

The Pen and Paper Diet® - www.ThePenAndPaperDiet.com - This weight managment book provides a simple way for the general public to control one's weight.  The book combines information from the National Academy of Sciences, the CDC and the USDA.  Since it is based on science, easy and basically free, I think that the concepts in the book will eventually become part of our common knowledge.  Any adult can lose weight with this diet and then maintain their ideal weight to a specific pound for the rest of their life.  This can all be done while eating the types of food one likes.  All one needs is A Personal Daily Calorie Budget™.  The book has been published in a generic international version (Metric Edition) and has also been translated into spanish (US version).

The Basics of Finances: Putting resource management skills into your hands  - This book is about resource management and attempts to convey the universal financial management principles that we all are in the process of learning.  It helps to take the mystery out of finances and empowers people to take charge of their resources as well as increasing their purchasing power potential through skill development.  I hope this book will be taught to all young adults one day in order to help us become responsible stewards of our finances and resources.  Here's a web address to the book at the publisher's website: www.tinyurl.com/2ae2j4w

Leadership and the Adapting Organization - This book presents time tested leadership principles.  I define and discuss social algebra, present and promote Transformational Leadership, present the U.S. Marine Corps 14 leadership traits, list many different types of questions an employer could ask an employee or potential employee to determine his or her uniqueness and personal resources and other things.  Here's a web address to the book at the publisher's website: www.tinyurl.com/23d9jjz
